They are in order of preference; that is to say that the book that was mentioned by the most people tops the list, and continues in descending order.  I received votes for almost 600 different titles that were your favorites, which is way too many to list here.  I have listed the most popular titles - all of these received multiple votes.  There were lots of ties, and these are listed alphabetically.  If anyone would like to see the entire list, please drop me an email and I will send it to you in Excel format.

I have to comment on The Lovely Bones - it garnered six times more votes than the next most popular book.  For the rest of the books listed here, the difference was miniscule, usually just one vote difference to the next book on the list.
